CameraBright!™ Camera Lighting Frequently Asked Questions
How much light do the CameraBright!TM X1-R, X1-W and X1-ER lights put out?
The CameraBright!TM X1-R, X1-W and X1-ER lights put out 36 candela, 25 candela and 72 candela respectively. That's roughly equivalent to the light output of a 2-AA flash light. Light Emitting Diodes (LED) use so little power that watts are not used to measure their actual light output, like an incandescent bulb.
What is the range of the CameraBright!TM X1-R, X1-W and X1-ER lights?
The CameraBright!TM X1-R, X1-W and X1-ER lights have an effective range of up to 12ft, 10ft, and 20ft, respectively.
What is the coverage of the CameraBright!TM X1-R, X1-W and X1-ER lights?
The CameraBright!TM X1-R, X1-W and X1-ER lights' coverage area is largely dependent on the distance from the subjects as well as the type of subject. In general, from 10ft away, the coverage area is 5ft x 5ft, 4ft x 4ft, and 6ft x 6ft respectively.
Can I use my older film SLR camera, or video camera with a CameraBright!TM X1 light?
Yes, a CameraBright!TM X1 light can be very useful in framing, auto-focus assist, red-eye reduction and video composition. We recommend you limit the total weight of the attached camera and lens to 2.0 lbs when using a single CameraBright!TM X1 lighting accessory. Knowing that the CameraBright!TM X1 lighting accessory attaches directly to the bottom of your camera's tripod mount, long lenses or your own hands can sometimes block the light. Be aware of this while using a CameraBright!TM X1 lighting accessory.
Can I attach a stack of CameraBright!TM X1 lights under my camera or camcorder and still use a tripod?
Yes, you can stack CameraBright!TM X1 lights with their pass-through attachment system, (see picture). However, we do not recommend stacking more than 4 CameraBright!TM X1 lights. We also recommend limiting the total weight of the attached camera and lens or camcorder to no more than 1lb in this stacked configuration.
Can a CameraBright!TM X1 lighting accessory be used for macro lens photography?
Yes, the CameraBright!TM X1 can assist with composition or even direct lighting in close-up or macro lens situations of inanimate subjects. Caution: Looking directly at any direct light source for a prolonged period of time within a short distance may cause eye injury.
Are the batteries in the CameraBright!TM X1 lighting accessory user replaceable?
Yes they are. The CameraBright!TM X1 lights uses standard CR2032 coin cell batteries that can be purchased at most grocery or convenience stores. The batteries are included with the purchase of a new CameraBright!TM X1 light.
